Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today questioned the claims that the separatist movement in the valley was indigenous in view of revelations made by former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf.

"So Pervez Musharaf believes Kashmir needs to be incited at regular intervals. What happened to this being 'an indigenous struggle for azadi' (freedom)?" Omar wrote on microblogging site Twitter.

Musharraf, in an interview to a TV news channel, had said Pakistan needs to "incite" those "fighting" in Kashmir.

"We have source (in Kashmir) besides the (Pakistan) army...People in Kashmir are fighting against (India). We just need to incite them," said the 71-year-old retired general, who is currently on bail in a treason case.
