Jammu: Asserting that the ruling National Conference will not even reach the double figure tally in the ongoing Assembly elections, BJP today said Chief Minister Omar Abdullah seems to be "day-dreaming" of forming the next government in Jammu and Kashmir.

"Omar is confident of forming the new government. He seems to be day-dreaming as his party is not going to reach even double figure in these Assembly elections," BJP leader Arun Kumar Gupta told reporters here.

"False statements and high claims of development are not going to help Omar and NC in these elections," he added.

Gupta said, "Omar should not forget that the vote share of his party has reduced after every Assembly elections."

He said Omar is trying to guard his political heritage but won't succeed. He said that Omar has failed to come to the expectations of the people as a Chief Minister and he won't be able to save even his party from the total defeat.

"Omar did nothing when he was the Chief Minister of the state and every citizen knows that J&K still lack basic facilities related to health, education, employment, road connectivity, etc.," the BJP spokesman said.

"High claims of development by Omar are white lies and mere eyewash. On what grounds Omar is confident of forming the next government as he did nothing for the people except looting the exchequer of the state during the last six years," Gupta said.

He said BJP is the only party which will get absolute majority in the ongoing elections "as the people of Jammu and Kashmir are in full support of our development agenda".
