Srinagar: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for maintaining silence on the ceasefire violations in the state while reaching out to victims of the Bangkok blast in "no time".
"It took our PM no time at all to tweet for the victims of the blast in Bangkok but in 2 days not a word for the cross LoC shelling victims," Omar wrote on micro-blogging site, Twitter.
The working president of National Conference said while the blast in the Thai capital should be condemned, the Prime Minister should have shown some support and sympathy for "one's own people".
"Of course Bangkok blast should be condemned in strongest possible terms but how about support & sympathy for ones own people sir?" Omar said.
Six persons have been killed and scores other injured in the shelling by Pakistani troops in Jammu province of the state over the past several days.
