New Delhi: US President Barack Obama and Prime Minister Narendra Modi may come together to address masses via radio -- considered as the biggest means of communication in India because of its wide reach and low charges.

Times of India report said that efforts are on to bring the two powerful leaders onboard for a joint address on  (AIR).

In the US, Obama does a weekly radio address anyway. After assuming the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) in May last year, Modi adopted the same strategy and started using radio as a medium to reach the masses. So far, the Prime Minister has addressed the people thrice through his ‘Mann Ki Baat' programme on AIR.

It should be noted that Modi and Obama, during formers visit to Washington DC in September last year, together had penned a joint op-ed along in the Washington Post. This was for the first time that an Indian leader has ventured on the path of a joint editorial.

Obama is expected to arrive here on January 25. On the same day, bilateral meetings, delegation-level talks, etc, followed by a state dinner at Rashtrapati Bhavan is scheduled. On the January 26, Obama will be at the majestic Rajpath for more than two-hours as a Chief Guest, witnessing the Republic Day parade.

On January 27, he is expected to give a speech on India and America at the Siri Fort Auditorium. In November 2010, Obama had done a town-hall meeting in St Xavier's College, Mumbai.

There are reports that Obama will also visit the Taj Mahal in Agra on January 27 before leaving for his home country.

Obama's visit is also special because it is believed that he will be bringing his family -- wife Michelle and daughters Sasha and Malia.
