Puducherry: The DMK today said the views expressed by Lt Governor Virendra Kataria through the media recently on the law and order situation here "are too serious to be ignored."
The party's Puducherry unit convener, M.A.S.Subramanian said the Lt Governor`s complaint that the Chief Minister N.Rangasamy had not discussed with him during any of his meetings about the law and order situation "is an exposure of the government`s neglect of protection of people."
Subramanian alleged that law and order had deteriorated during the last few months in Puducherry, adding, the announcement by traders that they would seek licenses to possess pistols for self-defence is an indication of the threats faced by them due to anti-social elements.
