New Delhi: A Delhi court today issued a non-bailable warrant against AAP leader and former Delhi law minister Somnath Bharti on alleged case of domestic violence filed by his wife Lipika Mitra.
Bharti, on Thursday, was named in a First Information Report (FIR) filed under several sections of the Indian Penal code (IPC), including domestic violence and attempt to murder, at Dwarka North police station in west Delhi.
Mitra, in the FIR, had alleged that Bharti has been abusing her ever since their marriage in 2010. She also claimed that Bharti beat and tortured her and once even tried to kill her.
Earlier in the day, a court here on Monday dismissed anticipatory bail plea of Bharti, in the case. Additional Sessions Judge Sanjay Garg refused to grant anticipatory bail to Bharti.
