Patna: RJD president Lalu Prasad on Thursday blamed Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the spread of Maoist activities in Bihar.
"Nitish Kumar is responsible for the spread of Maoist activities in Bihar... Maoists have now spread to two-thirds of the state," Prasad told reporters here.
The RJD chief also alleged that Kumar was playing an "escapist policy" while dealing with the Naxalite problem and had surrendered before the extremists.
"Violence cannot be tolerated in society and the present situation has to be tackled by carrying out operations against the Naxalites in the state," Prasad said.
He also made an appeal to the rebels to shun the path of violence and join the mainstream.
