Patna: Former Bihar chief minister and senior JD-U leader Nitish Kumar Sunday said RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's support for ghar wapsi (home coming) of Muslims and Christians to the Hindu fold "should be denounced by all".
"Bhagwat's support for ghar wapsi should be denounced by all. His statement will create more tension," Nitish Kumar told media persons here.
"Bhagwat's support for ghar wapsi is a clear cut indication that the BJP is implementing it to create social tension in the country," he added.
He said the Janata Dal-United and other like-minded parties would oppose the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Bharatiya Janata Party's move of ghar wapsi.
Earlier, Bhagwat had said: "Those involved (the converts) were Hindus earlier and were converted. We were not involved in their conversion, but are just bringing them back home. It's a ghar waapsi (home coming) programme," Bhagwat said.
He said in Kolkata Saturday that the converts had lost their way, and if they want to come back, they will be helped in returning home.
