Patna: Recognising social media as an "influential weapon", senior JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar Saturday stressed greater usage of social media by his party but not like BJP which has turned it as "anti social" by belting out abuses on rivals.
"Social media is an influential weapon but there is danger from its misuse," Kumar said in the message posted on his Facebook account.
"BJP has left no opportunity to turn social media into 'anti-social'...We will not follow this," Kumar said taking a pot shot at his earlier NDA companion.
"We will use social media to spread our views but not to bad mouth anybody," he said hitting out at his rival.
Kumar said he held around 100 meetings with JD(U) workers and leaders during which a large number of issues including importance of social media was discussed.
The meetings are part of the exercise before Kumar launches his "Samparak yatra" across the state from November 13.
JD(U) follows ideologies of Mahatama Gandhi, B R Abedkar, Ram Manohar Lohia, Lok Nayak Jayprakash Narayan and Karpoori Thakur and hence would never base politics on "false promises" and "divisive opinions", Kumar said in an apparent dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP.
