Patna, Jan 2: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has only Rs. 14,474 in cash at present and the value of his movable assets have shrunk marginally at Rs. 6.10 lakh as per details of various assets declared by him and his ministerial colleagues in 2012.




At the same time, Kumar has cleared off Rs. 84,192 loan from the banks and financial institutions that he had shown in the assets declared last year.

He had Rs. 46,974 in cash with him in 2011, but the same stood at Rs. 14,474 even as the value of his movable assets too declined marginally at Rs. 6.10 lakh in 2012 as against Rs. 6.15 lakh a year earlier.

The cash in hand and the movable assets of the Chief Minister's son Nishant increased at Rs. 13,568 and Rs. 7.75 lakh in 2012 as against Rs. 2369 and Rs. 7.36 lakh in 2011.

The value of immovable assets of the Chief Minister remained static at Rs. 40 lakhs (of a house in Delhi) over the past two years, while the same of his son stood at Rs. 47.48 lakh in 2012 as against Rs. 42.69 lakh in 2011.

Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi has assets worth Rs. 65.44 lakh with him and Rs. 49.54 lakh with his spouse and children even as he has an outstanding loan of Rs. 23 lakh from the banks and financial institutions.

The assets and liabilities of Modi remains the same over the past two years.

The Education Minister Prashant Kumar Shahi was the richest minister in the NDA government with assets at Rs. 4.64 crores.

The Water Resources Department (WRD) Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary has modest assets of Rs. 46.30 lakh in comparison to his wife Ganga Chaudhary's Rs. 78.70 lakh.

The Labour Minister happened to be the ‘poorest' minister in the Nitish Kumar government with movable and immovable assets worth Rs. 15.05 lakh only.

Of the 28 ministers, the Minorities Welfare Minister Shahid Ali Khan has assets worth Rs. 17.20 lakhs, but has loans from banks at Rs. 21 lakh.

The NDA government has nine ‘crorepatis' (assets of Rs. One crore or more) with the Mining and Minerals Minister Satyadev Narayan Arya being the second wealthiest minister with assets at Rs. 2.77 crores followed by the Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh with assets worth Rs. 2.46 crores . minister.

The Transport Minister Vrishen Patel and the Planning Minister Narendra Narayan Yadav have assets worth Rs. 1.94 crores and Rs. 1.28 crores respectively.

The former Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra's son Nitish Mishra, who is the Rural Development Minister in the Nitish Kumar government, has assets of Rs. 1.39 crores, but significantly he has a LIC insurance policy of Rs. One crore.

The Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Minister Giriraj Singh has immovable and movable assets worth Rs. 1.07 crores and he appears to be leading by example to promote agendas of his department by owning goats, chickens and birds worth Rs. 12 lakh.

The Chief Minister has made it mandatory for the ministers of his government to annually declare their assets by December 31 of every year for perusal by the people on the internet on the state government's website.
