New Delhi: Amid the ongoing confrontation between Kejriwal government and Delhi L-G over appointment of senior bureaucrats, the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a new notification regarding administration of Union Territories.
The notification once again underlines the supremacy of Delhi L-G over matters relating to 'Public Order', 'Police', 'Land' & 'Services'.
Here are the major highlights of new MHA notification:
1. Subject to his control & further orders, LG of the National capital of Delhi, shall in respect of matters connected with 'Public Order', 'Police', 'Land' & 'Services' exercise the powers & discharge functions of the Central Govt to the extent delegated to him from time to time by the President1.
2. Provided that LG may, in his discretion, obtain views of CM of Delhi in regards matter of 'Services', wherever he deems it appropriate
3. Anti-Corruption branch Police Station shall not take any cognizance of offences against officers,employees&functionaries of Central Govt
4. This notification supersedes earlier noti. dated 24 Sep1998 except as respect things done or omitted to be done before such supersession
