New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Manipur on November 30 and Nagaland on December 1. This will be his first visit to the northeastern states after assuming the office of the Prime Minister of India in May this year.
He will also stopover in Guwahati for the annual conference of Directors General of Police (DGP). Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, MoS for Home Kiren Rijiju, DGPs from all the states and paramilitary chiefs will attend the meet.
The conference, which was earlier scheduled for November 21, has been deferred by a week to November 29-30 in view of Modi's visit. This will be the first time that the conference will take place outside the national Capital. As per the reports, the conference will now be held in the state capitals every year.
Modi had visited Manipur during the Lok Sabha poll campaign. This will be his maiden visit to Nagaland on December 1 which is also Nagaland's Statehood Day.
