The sacrifice of Army jawans should not go to waste: Narendra Modi in Samba
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today exhorted people of Jammu and Kashmir to vote in large numbers in remaining phases of state assembly elections so that a clear message is sent to the militants who tried to disrupt the democratic process.
Addressing an election rally in Samba of Jammu and Kashmir, Modi said that a finger of AH-47 can take a life but a finger on EVM machine can change the destiny of a country.
Thanking the people of the state for coming out in large numbers to vote in the first two phases of elections, Modi said, "Jammu and Kashmir witnesses more cold than any other region or state of India. I thank you for the high turnout in the last two phases. You have shown the world that ballet is more powerful than bullet. The finger used to press button on EVM is more powerful than the finger used to fire AK 47. The finger used for firing AK 47 claims a life but the finger used on EVM changes the state of affair of a nation.
"Even the misguided youth consider AK-47 a liability now. Even he wants to take Android one in place of AK-47 in his hands. We have to create a suitable condition for the same," added Modi.
Reminding people of ‘sabka sath, sabka vikas' slogan of the BJP, Modi asked them to give a clear majority to the BJP in assembly elections.
"The mantra of BJP is ‘sabka sath, sabka vikas'. ‘Sath milega'? Will you give your support to the BJP??? (Crowd says- Yes)...If you promise to give 'saath' then I promise to do 'vikas'... I promise to deliver work… I promise development," said Modi.
"People of Kashmir want development. I am thankful to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for their support in the Lok Sabha polls. You voted for a majority government in Delhi. I appeal you to also form a majority government in state. Give BJP a clear mandate. Don't give fractured mandate. What is the use of a chair with broken legs? If one leg is broken the chair is useless," added Modi.
Modi attacked the Congress party for cleverly changing sides between NC and PDP for the sake of power.
"The Congress is very clever. It plays wisely …it first supports a government and then criticize it. This is only because they want power … they betray the people. Such organization (Congress) don't have any right to seek vote. No candidate should be voted to the Assembly," said Modi.
