Ufa (Russia): Prime Minister Narendra Modi today accepted an invitation from his counterpart Nawaz Sharif to visit Pakistan to attend the SAARC Summit in 2016 which could be his first to the country.
The two leaders met here for nearly an hour on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit and discussed entire gamut of issues between the two countries.
During the meeting, Sharif invited Modi to visit Pakistan for the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation Summit (SAARC) summit to be held in Islamabad next year.
"Prime Minister Modi accepted the invitation," a joint statement released after the meeting said. Modi and Sharif were last together in Kathmandu in November for the SAARC Summit but they did not have a bilateral meeting because of acrimony between the two countries at that time.
