Bhubaneswar: Union Minority Affairs Minister Najma Heptulla on Saturday met RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat here and discussed development issues.
"I discussed development issues," Heptulla told reporters on the sidelines of a function here on reply to a question whether she discussed the recent issue of alleged conversion in Uttar Pradesh with the RSS chief.
Heptulla, who reached the Odisha capital by a special flight, straight went to Utkal Bipanna Sahayata Samiti (UBSS) to meet RSS chief Bhagwat. She was accompanied by Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram.
However, sources said neither Oram nor any other BJP leader was present when Heptulla held discussion with Bhagwat.
Hetulla's meeting with the RSS chief is significant in the back drop of the issue of alleged conversion of Muslims in Agra with the issue rocking Lok Sabha.
Later while addressing a meeting on women and child rights organised by State Progressive Women's Forum, Heptulla thanked Oram for bringing her by using a special flight.
"As we were busy in a programme marking anniversary of the attack on Parliament, Oramji arranged a special flight to come here and meet you," Heptulla said.
