Modi has become the idol of Indian people, Jethmalani tells Aap Ki Adalat

Asked how he envisioned Modi become the PM as he does not have the support of Mamata Banerjee, Naveen Patnaik and Nitish Kumar, Jethmalani quipped: "PMs are not made by Mamata or the men whose name you speak. PMs are made by the people of India. People of India love Modi, and Ram Jethmalani too loves him."

Jethmalani pointed out that he had met Modi only once, and hardly spoke to him over telephone. "I met him only once when a delegation of judges and lawyers from the US wanted to visit Ahmedabad, and I took the delegation to meet Modi. That was my only meeting with Modi."

The expelled BJP MP hit out at senior party leader L K Advani saying he was ungrateful. "It was during the Jain Hawala case, when Advani resigned from Lok Sabha saying he would contest elections only after he was acquitted. S. Gurumurthy and Arun Jaitley came and requested me to take up his case.

" I got the charges against Advani quashed. The government went to the Supreme court, but Advani was acquitted there too.

"It was because of me, that he (Advani) returned to Parliament and in the political landscape. I am responsible for bringing Advani back to Parliament. But it was Advani who was part of the Parliamentary Board which decided to expel me."

On Rahul Gandhi, Jethmalani said, "I get angry, whenever I hear his name. I will not employ him even as a managing clerk of my office. If Rahul Gandhi becomes PM, thousands of people will migrate from India".
