Patna: Congress leader Raj Babbar today added the word “loot” to Vice-President Rahul Gandhi's slogan of “suit, boot ki sarkar” targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi led NDA government at the Centre and said it was cheating the countrymen.
“Narendra Modi's government has become ‘suit, boot, loot ki sarkar'. It has completed one year of rule and every section of the society -youth, unemployed, farmers or small businessmen - are feeling cheated by its words and actions,” the Congress national spokesperson told reporters here.
“He is giving Rs 5,000 crore loan to Adani and one billion dollar aid to Mongolia. They are squandering and looting the nation's money,” he said.
Further attacking the Prime Minister, the actor-politician said, “He has become a ‘Paridhan Mantri' (Dress Minister) instead of Prime Minister and acting like a Maharaja with no concern about the common people”.
Babbar was here to meet senior party functionaries and pay his tribute to the people who lost their lives in the recent storms and earthquakes.
Taking on Modi over his international tours, the Congress leader said, “Our country is continuously facing natural disasters and the Prime Minister is touring foreign countries on taxpayer's money. Be it Mongolia, South Korea, China, Australia, Canada or US, you name a country and he is there.”
Hitting out at Modi for not visiting the areas in the country facing severe agrarian crisis, Babbar blamed the Prime Minister for having “time to click selfies, but no time for farmers”.
“Maharaja Modi is doing such deeds that not only farmers, but the entire 125 crore population of the country is saying ‘Kisan Virodhi, Narendra Modi',” he said.
The Congress leader flanked by Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee (BPCC) President Ashok Chaudhary and Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Sadanand Singh, pointed out that Modi has not visited Bihar even once in last one year, despite the fact that the state has been ravaged by floods, drought, storms and earthquakes during this period.
