"If you go out from Ahmedabad and look at the countryside, you will find the real picture of Gujarat. The rich have become richer and the poor have become poorer", remarked De.
On Rahul Gandhi's prospects, Shobha De said: "Like Modi, Rahul is only untested. He is just a mere Bhaiyyaji holding on to his Mom's hands. This country is presently being run by Bhaiyyaji (Rahul) and Jeejaji (Robert Vadra)."
"His father Rajiv Gandhi, too, had no interest in policies. He suddenly became Prime Minister", said De.
On being asked who were the prospective candidates for the PM's post, Shobha De said, Meira Kumar, Sushma Swaraj or Priyanka Vadra could and should become the prime minister and give the country a good leadership.
