Meerut: The “king” has failed in fulfilling promises made during the last Lok Sabha polls campaign, Uttar Pradesh minister Azam Khan today said in a veiled reference to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Inaugurating a medical college named after SP supreme Mulayam Singh Yadav at Lalpur village in the district here, the state's Parliamentary Affairs and Urban Development Minister, without naming Modi said, “A king doesn't lie and a liar is never a king.”
“The king had promised round the clock power supply, wipe out poverty and unemployment. He had promised to make everyone rich within 100 days of coming to power, but in reality he fooled everyone,” Azam Khan said here. He said but the Samajwadi party government in the state has done what the party had promised.
He also said that those indulging in communal politics should remember, “We (muslims) never disrespected Mahatma Gandhi or demanded to build a temple of those who killed him.”
