Singhal said: "Since the divine powers of Lord Rama have now resided in Modi, it could be that destiny wants that he should establish Ram Rajya" (Jab Ram ki shakti unke upar aa gayi, to Ram Rajya kaayam karne ke liye baith gayi hogi).
Asked by Rajat Sharma whether it should not have been L K Advani, who was the pioneer of Ayodhya movement, Singhal sidestepped the question saying he would not like to comment.
"In politics, you don't know what people say and what they mean to. When he (Advani) launched his rath yatra, he did it on his own. He didn't seek the approval of saints. And when the rath was stopped, he brought the downfall of V P Singh's government. The only work that his rath yatra did was, it brought down a government", said Singhal.
