New Delhi: Senior BJP leader L K Advani sent a written letter to party president Rajnath Singh expressing his inability to attend today's parliamentary board meeting in which Narendra Modi was anointed as BJP's prime ministerial candidate.
It took 45 minutes for the letter to be drafted and re-drafted three times. Sources said, Advani would write a detailed blog tomorrow outlining the reasons behind his abstaining from the meeting.
Following is the English version of Advani's letter written in Hindi
"Dear Rajnath,
This afternoon when you came to inform me about the meeting of the parliamentary board, I had state something expressing my mental anguish and my disappointment with the style of functioning. I had then told you that I would consider whether I should come to meeting and express my opinion to all members or not. Now I have decided that it would be proper for me not to attend today's meeting.
