Nashik: Police have charged the president of ‘Mumbai Naka Mitra Mandal' with violation of model code of conduct for alleged use of T-shirts having MNS' poll symbol and photos of its party chief Raj Thackeray during Shiv Jayanti celebrations here on March 19.
The MNMM, formed by sitting MNS MLA Vasant Gite, had put a banner carrying the photos of the party's Nashik Lok Sabha candidate Dr Pradeep Pawar and Raj Thackeray and the activists during the celebratory procession wore T-shirts having photos of both the leaders and the party's poll symbol - rail engine, police said today.
Police videographed the whole incident and after investigation filed a case yesterday under section 188 of IPC and 134 of Mumbai Police Act against MNMM president Valmik Motkari, they said.
