New Delhi: A mini-Kamraj Plan is in the offing with several young ministers said to be close to Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi deciding to resign from the Cabinet and work for the party in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
First to resign was Environment Minister Jayanthi Natarajan, whose resignation has been accepted by the President and Veerappa Moily given additional charge.
There is a buzz in Congress circles that Minister of state in HRD Jitin Prasada and minister of state for Home R P N Singh may also resign to work for the party in Uttar Pradesh.
Similarly, Corporate Affairs minister Sachin Pilot may put in his papers along with close Rahul aide and Sports minister Jitendra Singh. Both Pilot and Jitendra Singh will concentrate on Rajasthan, their home state.
