Mainpuri(UP): The proposed merger of six constituents of the erstwhile ‘Janata Parivar' is the outcome of “Modi phobia”, Union minister Giriraj Singh today said and claimed that they are trying to protect their identity.
“The entire Opposition is badly hit by Modi phobia. And so they are trying all out efforts to save them from Modi's storm,” the Union minister of State for Small Industries told reporters here in reply to a question on the coming together of the six parties.
Singh claimed that the opposition is also fearing the rising popularity of the Prime Minister Modi. “It is the fear of Modi and his increasing popularity... not just in the country but also across the world where US President Barack Obama has repeatedly praised his vision, which has given India new heights across the world,” he said.
“The six parties, including Mulayam Singh Yadav's SP, are afraid of Modi's popularity because of his works for the poor and the downtrodden, hence they have made an attempt to protect their identity and the party,” he said.
Referring to law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh, the Union minister alleged,”criminals are managing the state's affairs and have taken complete control over it.”
“The people of UP are badly suffering from the onslaught of land mafias and criminals and the state machinery is either helping them or has become a silent spectator,” he said. The minister claimed that people of the state are now looking at BJP “to save them from the onslaught of criminals who are being patronised by ruling SP activists.” The six constituents of the erstwhile ‘Janata Parivar' will soon become one party as their leaders have authorised Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav to work out the “modalities” in that direction.
In their first joint action outside Parliament, SP, Janata Dal (Secular), Rashtriya Janata Dal, Janata Dal (United), Indian National Lok Dal and Samajwadi Janata Party will hold a ‘dharna' in Delhi on December 22 against government's “failure” to bring back black money stashed abroad, its alleged U-turn on farmers' issue and rising unemployment.
