Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh, who met Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee late last night, on Friday termed it as a courtesy call and said it should not be politicised.
"I have worked closely with Pranabda during my Congress days. It was a personal visit and nobody should see any politics in it," he said in New Delhi.
Ever since Singh resigned from key party posts earlier this month, there have been speculations about his future course of action. Though he continues to remain an ordinary member of SP and also a Rajya Sabha member, there are talks about his moving towards Congress or NCP.
Though both the parties have denied such reports, his meeting with Mukherjee at the latter's residence around 11.30 pm last night, again stoked rumours of his future, though Singh said there was no politics behind the meeting. PTI
