New Delhi: The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) workers today protested outside Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence over the non-payment of their salaries.

Contractual employees of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) and Reproductive and Child Health programme (RCH) are protesting outside the CM's residence demanding regularisation of jobs.

The sanitation workers of MCD are on a strike for the last 10 days over non-payment of salaries, resulting mounds of garbage lying unattended in many areas of the national capital.

The Chief Minister is slated to meet workers today at the Ramlila Maidan. Senior civic body officials will also attend the meeting.

Kejriwal and Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had met representatives of employees' unions of the North, East and South Municipal Corporations of Delhi (MCD) -- under the banner of Joint Front of MCD Unions last month.

Kejriwal informed the delegation that the Delhi government has paid its part of the amount to the corporations and the central government was yet to pay Rs 600 crore to the civic corporations.

"We have given all the money we were supposed to. In fact, we gave more than we were supposed to," Kejriwal said.

The three corporations are governed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which heads the government at the Centre.
