Lucknow, March 15: Uttar Pradesh's former chief minister and BSP chief Mayawati Friday paid tributes to her mentor and party founder Kanshiram on his 79th birth anniversary here.
At the Bahujan Samaj Prerna Kendra, she recalled the late leader as a champion of the poor, deprived, Dalits, backward and the needy.
Urging Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) workers and supporters to work towards achieviing Kanshiram's dream, Mayawati accused the ruling Samajwadi Party (SP) government in Uttar Pradesh of dishonouring Kanshiram.
"Several schemes in the name of Kanshiram were made by successive BSP governments but the SP has ended all of them," she said in a statement.
