New Delhi: Defence minister Manohar Parrikar on Sunday met home minister Rajnath Singh, amid the stand-off between Indian and Chinese forces in Ladakh. During the 30-minute meeting, Parrikar and Singh are believed to have discussed about the stand-off and various other issues concerning the country, sources said.

A meeting of local commanders of the Indian and Chinese armies is expected to take place Monday after the face-off between the two sides in the heights of Ladakh's Burtse area ended early Sunday morning.

ITBP and army jawans demolished a hut that was constructed 1.5km inside the Line of Actual Control (LAC) on Friday, leading to a face-off between the two sides, official sources said on Sunday. The area is located 210km northeast of Leh.

While BSF guards the India-Pakistan border, ITBP protects the Sino-India border, and the army provides full support to the two paramilitary forces in securing the two frontiers.

Both Singh and Parrikar are part of the country's highest decision-making body on security issues, the cabinet committee on security, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Singh, who was supposed to visit India-China and India-Pakistan borders, has postponed the trip due to a key meeting of BJP on Bihar.
