Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Saturday tied rakhis on the wrists of Governor K.N. Tripathi and Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan on the eve of Rakhi Purnima.
Banerjee called on Tripathi at the Raj Bhavan after her day's work at the state secretariat Nabanna.
Later, she attended a function organised by Kolkata Police where Shahrukh Khan was the main attraction alongside Bengali film heartthrob Dev.
Banerjee utilised the occasion to tie rakhis on both the film personalities.
Raj Bhavan sources said that after tying the Rakhi, she went around the library of the Governor's residence to see the collection of books and periodicals.
This was her first visit to Raj Bhavan after Mr Tripathi was sworn in as new Governor of the state succeeding M K Narayanan on July 24 last.
