New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today hold four public meetings in poll-bound Maharashtra.
As per the schedule, he will first address an election rally in Pandharpur at 10:30 am. Later, he will fly to Tulzapur, Loha and Thane at 12:15 pm, 2:30 pm and 5:30 pm respectively.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is contesting 257 of the total 288 seats. The remaining 31 seats are being contested by its smaller allies following its break-up with old ally Shiv Sena.
In Maharashtra, the India TV-C Voter pre-poll survey has predicted that the BJP will emerge as the single largest party, but may fall short of majority. It has given 132-142 seat range to the BJP by the Shiv Sena with seats between 50 and 60.
Single phase polling in Maharashtra will take place on October 15 whereas counting of votes is slated for October 19.
