New Delhi: As the old adage goes, marriages are made in the heaven. The love story of UP CM Akhilesh Yadav and his MP wife Dimple Yadav has once again underlined how true this old age belief is. Akhilesh Yadav , the son of Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, had never thought that he would marry a girl whose family had nothing to do with politics. Around 13 years back, Akhilesh who was 25 years old at that time fell for Dimple, a pahari girl. While Dimple was studying humanities at Lucknow University at that time and Akhilesh had just returned from Australia after studying marine engineering. The met, fell in love and rest as we say is history now. The intensity of their love compelled the two families to give their consent for their marriage. Dimple was born into a family of army men and his father Colonel (Retd.) S C Rawat like any other Indian father wanted her to be married into a family that will keep her happy. A political family for her daughter was not something that he had ever thought of. Similarly, A veteran politician like Mulayam Singh Yadav was also not prepared to face such a scenario. Akhilesh and Dimple tied the knot on November 24, 1999. The marriage was attended by top politicians and Bollywood biggies including Amitabh Bachchan and Rajesh Khanna. Akhilesh and Dimple had full faith in each other and they were sure that the power of their love will overcome all the hurdles that will come in their way.
