The CBI counsel told Haradhan Mukhopadhay, Chief Judicial Magistrate at Alipore Court, that Mitra had not cooperated with the investigating agency during interrogation on January 20 at Alipore Correctional Home here.  The Minister was not produced before the court today as he was suffering from breathing trouble, the magistrate was told.

The court extended his judicial remand till February 12 on a prayer by CBI counsel Partha Sarathi Dutta.  The judicial remand of another accused Naresh Bhalotia, who was produced before the court, was also extended till February 12.

Mitra was arrested by CBI on December 12 for his alleged involvement in the multi-crore Saradha scam and his links with its chairman Sudipta Sen.
