Former legislator and state secretary of CITU Shankar Prasad Dutta is the CPM candidate from West Tripura LS constituency. He has replaced the sitting CPM MP Khagan Das who has bowed out because of his falling health. He is being challenged by Arunodaya Saha of Congress, rattan Chakraborty of TMC and S C Dasgupta of BJP.
