Former minister Bijoy Krishna Handique of Congress will be contesting from this seat for his 7th term since 1991. He is being challenged by Kamakhya Prasad Tasa of BJP,Manoram Gogoi of AAP and Ribuloya Gogoi of TMC who is the only woman candidate for the seat.
