New Delhi: The Lok Sabha was Monday adjourned for the day amid uproar over price hike issue. Earlier lok Sabha Speaker had adjourned the house till 2 pm but as the afternoon session began, situation grew worse.
As the question hour began, some opposition members of the house protested rising prices and disrupted the proceedings of the house.
Amid the din, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan adjourned the house for the day
The session began today and will conclude on 14th August.
"The session will have 28 sittings and 168 working hours. Since the Standing Committees for various ministries are yet to be constituted, the demands for grants for various ministries will be passed by both Houses by July 31 after discussion in Parliament instead of the committees," Ms Mahajan said after the meeting on Saturday.
"Government is willing to give full time to discuss any issue. They are ready to discuss every issue. Different suggestions have come and they will be decided after the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee," she added.
