Live reporting: Rajasthan records highest 74.38 pc voting, both BJP, Congress upbeat

Jaipur/Jodhpur: Nearly 75 per cent polling was recorded in the Rajasthan Assembly polls today for 199 seats. The turnout was 74.38 per cent, the highest-ever in Rajasthan,  the Election Commission said.The fate of 2,087 candidates,

5pm: The state records  74.38 pc voting

4.30pm: Around 65 percent polling recorded in the state.

4pm: Around 60 percent polling recorded in the state.

3.30pm: Around 52 percent polling recorded in the state.

2pm: Around 40 percent polling recorded in the state.

12 noon: Around 20 percent polling recorded in the state.

10 am: BJP leader and former Home Minister Gulabchand Kataria casts his vote in Udaipur, from where he is contesting. Says, voting percentage will increase this time because of more awareness.

9:45 am: Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot casts his vote in Jodhpur. Says it will be a one-sided win for Congress this time. "There is no competition with BJP. There was a lot of advantage from rallied addressed by Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh. Our campaign was positive. Our work will speak for us. There is no Modi factor here."

9 am: BJP chief ministerial candidate Vasundhara Raje arrives to cast her vote in Jhalrapatan

8:30 am: First time voters queue up in large numbers in Jodhpur, Jaipur, Udaipur
