Giving an outline of his economic philosophy, Modi said that India needs to focus on three core areas- agriculture, manufacturing and service sector - for overall growth.
"For growth of India , we have to focus on three areas - agriculture, manufacturing and service sector. In case of agriculture, we have to adopt new means because we can't increase the size of land any more. Therefore, we have to use modern science for increasing production per hectare. We also have to provide "value-add" to our farmers. For example, the farmer will earn better if he sells ketchup instead of tomato only. He will earn better if he has better idea of packaging and marketing,” added Modi.
Targeting Congress for making false promises on army personnel's demand for one rank- one pension, Modi said," Congress always makes promises about implementing one rank-one pension but they never implement this. This time again they have promised it after I supported it but they are not honest this time as well. Had Vajpayee ji won in 2004, it would have been implemented by now. "
