New Delhi: The BJP today released the list of 62 candidates for the Delhi assembly polls, leaving four seats for NDA ally Shiromani Akali Dal.
Party general secretary Ananth Kumar announced that the list contains seven candidates from scheduled caste, four women and a Muslim.
BJP's chief ministerial candidate Dr Harshvardhan will contest from Krishnanagar, while former state BJP chief Vijender Gupta has been fielded against chief minister Sheila Dikshit and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal.
Among those who have got tickets are, O P Babbar's son Rajiv Babbar from Tilak Nagar, former CM late Sahib Singh Verma's son Pravesh Verma from Mehrauli, Vijay Kumar Malhotra's son Ajay Malhotra from Greater Kailash, and Arun Jaitley's PS O P Sharma from Vishwas Nagar, Shahdara.
BJP is yet to finalize candidates for 8 seats. They are: 1. Timar Pur, 2 Adarsh Nagar, 3 Bawana, 4 Nangloi, 5 Chhatarpur, 6 Okhla, 7 Seemapuri, 8 Mustafabad .
