Gurgaon: The car of RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav's son-in-law Vinit Yadav was today snatched by some unidentified persons at gunpoint near Sikandarpur metro station on the busy M G road, police said.
The white colour Toyota Fortuner was being driven by Vinit's driver Hari Prakash when four to five assailants intercepted it at gunpoint in broad daylight, a police official said.
According to reports, Vineet Yadav had gone to Sikanderpur at around 2.30 pm in his car. After he got off the vehicle, some men approached the driver and threatened him with a gun. They assaulted him and forced him out of the vehicle and then fled with the car.
"After stopping the vehicle the assailants dragged the driver out of the car and fled with it," APRO and ACP, Gurgaon Police, Hawa Singh said.
The RJD supremo's son-in-law, who is a resident of Delhi, was not in the car at the time of the incident, Singh said.
Police have registered a case under the Arms Act and launched a hunt for the culprits, the ACP said.
Vineet Yadav is married to Lalu Prasad Yadav's fifth daughter Hema Yadav.
