New Delhi: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has withdrawn the NSG Black Cats security cover of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh.
The latest move comes after NSG demanded reduction in their VIP security duties so that they could concentrate on specialised anti-terrorism and anti-hijacking roles.
The two will, however, will continue to enjoy the Z-plus security cover and also be guarded by the CRPF
Lalu will get the CRPF cover only in Bihar and Delhi while Singh will get the same only in his home state i.e. Chhattisgarh.
NSG still has nearly a dozen protectees like Rajnath Singh, Mayawati, Mulayam Singh Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav, LK Advani, M Karunanidhi, J Jayalalithaa and Murli Manohar Joshi.
CRPF is guarding as many as 50 VIPs including Amit Shah, Mukesh Ambani, Nitin Gadkari, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Jitendra Singh, Radha Mohan Singh, Anant Kumar, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Babul Supriyo.
