Patna, Sep 21: Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo Lalu Prasad today lashed out at Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee saying she was egotistic and arrogant, and her party should have been thrown out of the UPA long back.
Talking to reporters here, Lalu Prasad said, They (Congress) should have removed her from the very beginning, because Mamata Banerjee was not letting the government function efficiently.
“It was due to the benevolence of Congress that Mamata could become part of UPA”, Lalu Prasad said.
“It's good that she left”, the RJD supremo said, adding that Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar was now in support of her.
“He (Nitish) won't get anything. The demand for special status to Bihar had been raised since 2002, Atalji had given assurance, but nothing happened”, he said.
The RJD leader rejected reports that the UPA govt at the Centre was in danger. “Lok Sabha polls will take place in 2014 and there will be no Third Front”, he said.
