New Delhi/Thiruvananthapuram: The past is catching up fast with Aam Aadmi Party leader Kumar Vishwas.

A week after Shia Muslims were up in arms over his old derogatory remark about Mohurram, which he later withdrew, Kerala leaders, including the Chief Minister,  have demanded apology from him for making racing remarks about Malayalee nurses at a Kavi Sammelan in Ranchi in 2008.

At the Kavi Sammelan, Kumar Vishwas while humouring the audience said, "in earlier days, patients in hospital were looked after by nurses from Kerala, kaali-peeli, and patients used to really consider them as sisters. Those nurses never used to post their photos online. But nowadays nurses from north India glam up for duty reeking with perfume and makeup. One such nurse in a hospital recently took my pulse, looked into my eyes, and said, hai ram, it's really tez (fast), and I told myself, if my pulse won't run fast, will  Surendra Sharma's (old humorist) pulse run  fast?"

Angry Youth Congress workers on Monday ransacked the Aam Aadmi Party office in Kochi after the video appeared on YouTube.

Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy wrote to a letter his Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal asking him to persuaded Vishwas to withdraw his humorous remark and tender apology.

"It is most unfortunate that the Aam Aadmi party is tight-lipped regarding the derogatory remarks on Malayalee nurses", Chandy wrote.
