New Delhi: RJD has decided to field the eldest daughter of Lalu Prasad, Misa Bharti, from Pataliputra Lok Sabha constituency in upcoming parliamentary elections.Let's take a look at the background of Misa who is now 38 years old.Misa was born when Lalu was behind bars during emergency under the dreaded MISA (Maintainance of Internal Security Act). Lalu named her eledest daughter as MISA.MIsa was always known to be closely interested in politics. In May this year when Lalu Prasad held his mega rally at Patna's Gandhi Maidan, Misa was seen overseeing the preparation.She took time out from her busy schedule and spoke to reporters present there.Misa confessed that her father had committed mistakes in the past but assured that Lalu was a completely changed man now although she refused to divulge what mistakes Lalu had committed.Misa first hogged the media limelight when she topped her MBBS degree exam, with a distinction in gynaecology, from Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH). Lalu's political opponents cried foul given the fact that she was never a bright student. In fact, her very admission to MBBS course had led to a hue and cry in political circles.The second time she made headlines was the time when she married computer engineer Shailesh Kumar in 1999. It was a lavish wedding and the money spent was hotly debated in media at that time.Despite having topped her MBBS exam, Misa is not a practising doctor. “I could not practise because immediately after clearing my MBBS exam, I got married. It was not possible for me to continue with my medical profession with all the family responsibilities on my shoulder,” Misa had told reporters sometimes back. Misa along with his husband has shifted to Delhi and the couple has two daughters , Durga who is 11 years old and Gauri who is 5 years old.
