New Delhi: In a huge embarrassment to the BJP, the party's chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi has made it clear that it's not her loss but the party's loss.
“I have not lost, BJP has lost. The party should introspect,” Kiran Bedi said while addressing a press conference after the BJP was decimated in the Assembly elections. Bedi herself lost to AAP candidate from Krishna Nagar by a margin of more than 2400 votes.
Bedi further goofed up in the press conference when she said that the party, at least, did not ask her for money before making her the chief ministerial candidate.
“I am thankful to the party that they did not ask me for money before projecting me the CM candidate,” said Kiran Bedi which is seen as a huge embarrassment to the BJP.
Kiran Bedi, however, defended Narendra Modi and said that he can't be blamed for the defeat as it was she who was the CM candidate and not Modi.
When asked if her defeat from Krishna Nagar meant the BJP cadre did not support her, Bedi replied in the negative.
“It's wrong to say that the party cadre did not support me. I got their full support,” said Modi.
“Even I don't know why I lost from Krishna Nagar,” added Bedi.
