Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has directed all the departments to review the decisions taken by the previous Congress regime after May 16, the day Lok Sabha results were declared, and submit their reports within 15 days.

There were 115 such decisions involving 23 departments which would be reviewed, he said.

“All the concerned departments have been directed to review the decisions taken by previous Congress government after May 16 and submit a report on within next fifteen days so that further action could be taken on them,” the Chief Minister said.

Khattar told reporters that some decisions were taken by departments itself on which concerned Ministers will take further action after proper review.

When asked what action would be taken on complaints about alleged irregularities in land deals, including of Robert Vadra, Khattar said that all types of complaints were being examined.

“Action will soon be taken on such complaints after following due procedure of law,” he said.  According to a media report, a draft CAG report is believed to have found that Vadra reaped nearly Rs 44 crore in windfall gains in land deals in Haryana during the Bhupinder Singh Hooda regime.

The report also alleged the Haryana government did not insist on recovering over Rs 40 crore of the profit he made by selling the land to DLF Universal.

Khattar also said that all the departments have been asked to find out the areas where there could be possibilities of corruption to root out the evil.

Chief Minister Khattar today announced a hike of Rs 200 per month on all social security pensions with effect from January 1, 2015.

These include old age Samman allowance, widow pension, pension for persons with disabilities and dwarfs pension.  Speaking after presiding over Cabinet meeting here today, Khattar said it will be a new year gift to all beneficiaries covered under the social security pension.

He said that all the beneficiaries will get pension through bank accounts from February next year.  The Chief Minister said that every household will have a bank account as per the policy of Central government and Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojna has been launched to meet this purpose.

Distribution of pensions through bank accounts will also check any type of irregularities, he said.

In reply to a question, Khattar said that the monthly hike of Rs 200 in social security pensions would help the beneficiaries of these schemes to the tune of about Rs 520 crore annually.
