New Delhi: The Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP goverment in Delhi will seek a vote of confidence on January 2 on the floor of Delhi assembly.
The session of the assembly will begin on January 1 and the election of the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker has been fixed for January 3, a Delhi government press release said today after a meeting of the cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Earlier this week, Kejriwal was conveyed by Lt Governor Najeeb Jung to Kejriwal to seek the confidence vote within seven days of his swearing in as Chief Minister.
AAP has a tally of 28 MLAs in the 70-member House and its government is backed an eight-member Congress.
BJP is the largest single party in the assembly with 31 members.
