New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today said that its leader Arvind Kejriwal will meet Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung around Monday noon, amid indications that it was ready to form a government in Delhi.
An AAP spokesperson told IANS that Kejriwal will address the media at 11 a.m. Monday and then proceed to meet Jung.
The AAP has been engaged in a campaign to elicit a 'yes' or 'no' from people on government formation with Congress backing after it finished as the second largest party with 28 seats in the 70-member assembly.
The spokesperson added that most of the people AAP had got in touch with or who contacted the party through SMS and social media were in favour of the one-year-old party ruling Delhi.
The Delhi election threw up a fractured mandate, with the BJP ending up with 31 seats. But it refused to form a government. The Congress won only eight seats. The Lt. Governor then invited the AAP.
