Ayodhya, Oct 16: BJP leader Vinay Katiyar today asked Muslims to give up their claim on the disputed site in Ayodhya and pave the way for construction of a temple there in national interest.
"In the national interest it would be better that Muslims leave their claim on the disputed site and give a message of unity to the world by paving the way for construction of a temple on Ram Janmbhoomi," Katiyar told reporters here.
He said if Muslims don't do this, then a number of title suits related to disputed sites in the country will crop up.
On president of Akhara Parishad Gyan Das' threat that saints will leave BJP if Katiyar was not expelled, he said that his words were like blessings for him.
"He is a great saint and I wish he becomes successful in his efforts for an amicable solution," Katiyar said.
On the AIMPLB's decision to move the SC, Katiyar said the opposite parties will also move the apex court. PTI
