New Delhi, May 8: The Karnataka Assembly election results should not be considered a mandate by the Congress, BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said today, as results and trends poured in from Bangalore.
Naqvi said, the debacle of his party in Karnataka was not surprising, considering that Yeddyurappa had left the BJP.
The BJP leader said, victory in a particular state in the South does not mean that the electorate of India has given the Congress a mandate.
