New Delhi: Kamla Beniwal, sacked Governor of Mizoram, has rejected all charges of irregularities leveled against her.
Speaking to reporters in Kolkata, Beniwal said that whatever she did was completely in accordance with rules and regulations.
Kamla Beniwal was sacked by the president within days of her taking over as Mizoram Governor. Before moving to Mizoram, Kamla Beniwal had served as Gujarat Governor and she had running feus with Narendra Modi when he was the Chief Minister of the state.
Defending its action in LOk Sabha, the government said in Lok Sabha that the decision to sack Kamla Beniwal as Mizoram governor was taken in accordance with Constitution and there was "no politics in it".
The Congress party, however, termed the sacking of Kamla Beniwal an act of political vendetta.
